Marjorie Floyd brings a unique perspective to marketing with a background as an executive for foundations, public and private corporations, and as a consultant, investor and entrepreneur. A true connector, she is recognized for her ability to synthesize complex situations and define strategy, gather the resources needed to initiate and execute projects, and manage crises at the board and organizational level.

A career that began building brands for national and multi-national corporations including GE Appliances, KFC, LG&E Energy, Long John Silver’s, Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, and the KONE Corporation led Marjorie to launch Strategic Marketing Resources, Inc. in 1996. The firm provides strategic planning, fundraising, business development, marketing, public relations and crisis management services to private and not-for-profit organizations- often through the prism of storytelling.

Marjorie joined Gulf Coast Community Foundation as a consultant and served as Vice President for Marketing and Development and as an officer of Gulf Coast Strategic Investments. A career goal has been ensuring that donors could achieve their philanthropic goals using the assets they choose—cash, securities, tangible personal property and real estate. This interest led to a decade long relationship with Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, a regional land trust, and also a role as Consultant/Director of Marketing and Development for The Sarasota Ballet. Some of her most rewarding accomplishments have been strengthening the governance, strategic planning and fundraising for organizations.

Work with high net worth individuals and families; trust and estate attorneys and wealth management advisors inspired Marjorie to provide a highly customized and discreet service capturing legacy stories on video.

Marjorie writes for all media and is an engaging public speaker. She has served as Emcee and presented to many business and philanthropic organizations including Council on Foundations, Southeastern Council of Foundations, World Money Show, Wall Street Live, Chambers of Commerce and facilitated board retreats and strategic planning workshops.

Marjorie has consistently delivered outstanding results.

She earned a BA from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and is an alum of Leadership Florida. She serves as a board member and past president of The Field Club Foundation, Community Advisory Board of Truist, a member of The Fine Arts Society of Sarasota Advisory Board, and a Board Trustee of The Out-of-Door Academy. She is a sought after nonprofit board consultant and board member and has participated in oodles and gobs of corporate training and continuing education.
